《双城记》（　a　tale　of　two　cities　）是英国作家　查尔斯　·　狄更斯　所著，　“　双城　”　指的是巴黎与伦敦。我最喜欢的句子：　那是最美好的时代，那是最糟糕的时代；那是智慧的年头，那是愚昧的年头；那是信仰的时期，那是怀疑的时期；那是光明的季节，那是黑暗的季节；那是希望的春天，那是失望的冬天；我们拥有一切，我们一无所有;我们全都在直奔天堂，我们全都在直奔相反的方向

书中，某些最喧嚣的权威坚持要用形容词的最高级来形容它。说它好，是最高级的；说它不好，也是最高级的。当代社会也存在这样卑鄙的人跟势力。这部小说塑造了三类人物。一类是以厄弗里蒙地侯爵兄弟为代表的封建贵族，他们“唯一不可动摇的哲学就是压迫人”，是作者痛加鞭挞的对象。　我这里只想说的是在我生活的城市在我这些年的经历中，这样不要脸的势力还真是同样存在，明目张胆目中无人极度卑鄙没有作为正常人应有的良心，很恶毒的为人跟居心叵测，只因为一时得势。
